Wear Me: The Nude Pump

The nude pump is a necessity. Classic, t strap, sandal, kitten, whatever. Own a pair. Your skinnies, coated denim, pencils, minis, crops and zips will thank you. The versatile – clearly, and they elongate your legs. Put on a shoe and automatically have slimmer and more toned looking legs? If this doesn’t seal the deal then you’re either A – the owner of the most slim & toned looking legs ever or B – on crack.

Here are some of my picks.

Friday Favorites: Weekend Edition

Hands down, my favorite look is the result of mixing casual and dressier pieces. Case in point. The leather baseball cap, the coat, the caged midi. Ugh.

If you didn’t know, now you know son. I raved about it last week and I still am. I make out with the stuff in my sleep. It’s heaven for tired eyes and the holy grail for when you want to add a nice candle lit glow to your face. Obsessed.

I know, I know, I shouldn’t be having treats at all when it’s not cheat day but how can I go wrong? Little 90 cal mini sandwiches with 2 grams of fat and about 8 grams of sugar. Sometimes when I’m craving a little something after dinner I shove these in my mouth. I mean single ones. not the whole box. Really. Not like you have the right to judge if I did anyway. Closet eater. Humph.

Jeffrey Campbell. Sugarplum booties. Say it with me now. Like cotton candy in shoe form.  Nasty Gal is my haven for shoes I don’t really want to see walking down the street next to me. These were made for my feet. I like to tell myself that.

Classic. Classic black sweater, sunnies, pumps and bag. Can this be the new uniform for absoulutely all females everywhere? I wouldn’t even be annoyed that they’re wearing what I’m wearing. I just never want to see Lululemon yoga pants and hoodies ever again. It’s worth it.

That’s right. Go sit your self down fella.

This here is another one of the books I wanted to read before it’s on the silver screen. Quick rundown – it’s about a woman who doesn’t believe that her daughter died of her own will. It switches back and forth between mom and daughter for a riveting (yes, riveting) storyline. I like it so far.

Diptyque is my everything right now. I chose to purchase Baies in candle form recently because I couldn’t choose between that and this new scent, Rosamundi. I attribute one sleepless night last week to this specific conundrum therefore the only obvious solution I had was to purchase both. Rosamundi, Baies and I await your arrival.

Purchased: Beauty Goods

Something about the word “goods” makes me feel like a thief. Like I made off like a bandit with spoils that are just waiting to be discovered by the authorities. I mean, I paid for these, but I’m just saying. It’s the word that makes me feel like part of a ring of looters.

Okay, so anyway, I wanted to share my most recent purchases with you. Not share, physically obviously, but you know, share as in inform you as to how pleased I am to have coveted such items.

See, look!

NARS Final Cut Collection for Spring is so perfect I have no words. The prettiest and most pigmented pinks and oranges in the shape of lip pencils and blushes. They’re solely Nordstrom exclusives which makes me happy because I love anything Nordstrom and anything exclusive. The only obvious downside is that they’re hard to replace. Duh, I’ll just have to stock up. Anyway, I purchased two lip  pencils (of which I have quite a growing collection of due to my obsession) in Torres Del Paine (a gorgeous melon-y orange that is perfect for daytime wear and Villa Lante (a bright mod pink that’s, again, wearable any time of day.) Which, come to think of it, I could care less how bright my lipstick is during the day but sometimes you want to pair it with a less neutral eye, so I guess what I’m saying is that you can pair it with a full face of makeup and still look naturally beaut.

Keeping with my pretty pink and orange theme, I was in need of a fresh new blush so I picked up MAC’s Peaches blush. Oh sh*t son. Done deal, is bright enough to give me a nice peachy J Lo type flush without making me look like a EDC clown. Love it.

Oh, okay, and here’s the kingpin. I was looking for a nice illuminator that wouldn’t make my skin look too shiny or wet (I stayed away from the liquids) and according to the Sephora artist, when my eyes popped open wider than they already are, she knew it was love at first sight. Laura Mercier’s Matte Radiance Baked Powder in Highlighter 01 is by far the most amazing thing I’ve ever put on my face. The illumination is flawless. FLAW-LESS. I am so pleased with this product, I’m going to ride this joy all the way into a review.

I also felt like adding to my collection of Lush massage bars so I grabbed this Hottie one with has rounded nodules for sore muscles of which I have many. The smell isn’t too overpowering, which many Lush products are well known for, plus it’s one of the bars that contain cocoa butter so it’s nice and oily.

As always, feel free to share whether you’ve tried these products already and what you thought…I’m kidding, I don’t care what you think, your opinion doesn’t matter because I am in love. And you know people in love don’t listen.

But really, share.

Style: Looks of the Week

Elizabeth Olsen in Proenza Schouler. Not a huge fan of the dress (a little too Salem witch hunt-y to me) but those metallic pumps are to die.

Taylor Schilling in Peter Pilotto x Target. I wasn’t that intrigued for this new collection but she looks amazing in those prints. I like the heavy mixing but gladiators or cage sandals would have gone nicer with this look.

Alexa Chung in Peter Pilotto x Target. Yes. This is impeccable. A bit of monochrome and a bit of color is more my style.

Kate Bosworth in Monique Lhuillier. She is a real life angel. The prettiest little thing and the top and sheer pencil skirt couldn’t suit anyone else better. The classic ballerina bun and sharp contrast white pumps were perfect for her petite-ness.

Jessica Alba in Kenzo. She never fails me. Styling a graphic sweatshirt with a leather pencil skirt and chunky platforms is hard to do but she pulls it off (as usual).

Olga Kurylenko in head to toe Dior. Wow. Hi modern day Audrey. How gorgeous is this color? The combination of her hairstyle, A line cut, and classic pumps is the epitome of classy yet fun. This is by far my favorite look because it’s so fresh and cute!

Miranda Kerr in a cropped boxy tee and lacy midi. Honestly she looks so fresh faced and effortless. That skirt is a must this upcoming Spring.

Naomi Watts. This is how you do upscale cas. The blazer the leather blush tone crops and the gold capped platforms are glam yet understated enough to look effortless.

Miley in Saint Laurent and vintage Chanel. Denim on denim. I’m dying. And those minimalist blue sandals? Amazing. I love everything about this look. Hair too. This is iconic.

Sarah Hyland’s Tory Burch scarf and coat and Talbot Runhof strapless dress. I love prints with bold colored pumps, I feel like one intense color is a nice pairing for any kind of print because it doesn’t take away from the print, just highlights it.

Selita Ebanks in Haute Hippie. I saw this dress on Shopbop and it didn’t look like it could be all that flattering on but this looks flawless. Really elegant way to do menswear. White on white is so hot.

Jamie Chung in Cushnie et Ochs. The crop top and wide leg pants are a sexy take on menswear. Love.

Kate Hudson does on to go glam plenty of favors. The frilly blouse, leather jacket and cropped skinnies are one of my favorite looks for put together casual.

Jessica Alba are you kidding me? The vampy lip with the angelic white leather scroll and floral Ralph Lauren frock? Siren. I’m going to go ahead and call this look Dark Angel because it is rightly so. I love how she chose a strappy black heel instead of nude, totally compliments the lip and polish. One of my favorite looks on her, definitely.

Friday Favorites: Weekend Edition

Hola. Como estas? I missed my favorites last week becuase clearly I was busy learning Spanish. Kidding I was shopping. You’ll see soon enough…

Here are my FAVORITES of the week.

Happy Weekend xo

There’s nothing about this look that I hate. The cas sweater, the tulle ballet skirt, the monochoromatic tights and Louboutins. Plus I spy a faux. I could do this every single day.

I’m not saying anything about this Laura Mercier baked highlighting powder I recently purchased because 1 – I have no words and 2 – it’s so amazing that I’ve done a whole seperate review on it. Like, I want it to stay on my face even after I take my makeup off. I want it on my face when I don’t want anything on my face, this is how deeply this powder has touched me.

No I’m not being hipster and no I’m not suffering from an eating disorder. I wish (just kidding – very serious stuff, totes kidding), but ginger tea has been my savior ever since my liver lost it’s shit during last weekend’s Super Bowl. I’m not a huge drinker so you can imagine how I felt after cleaning out the bar. Unnecessarily suffering from debauchery or not, ginger tea is a staple in my diet. I drink it 3-4 times a night after dinner and every time my stomach isn’t feeling so hot. It does wonders for inflammation, upset stomach, bloating, indigestion and nausea, plus it relieves stress. I sound like an annoying advertisement but I sh*t you not, ginger tea is the f*cking bomb. Do it.

I came across a book list on Buzz Feed recently of books that have been or will be adapted into film and felt I needed to read every single one, because I’ve never seen a movie that’s lived up to my expectations after reading the orignal book form. Case in point – this one. I finished it within a couple days it was so hard to put down. I’m not giving you a synopsis so pick it up before you watch the flick. If you’re in the mood for contemplating life and putting things into perspective, you’re in for a doozy.

Madewell’s V Neck Pocket T. Anyone whose anyone knows I love a good white tee. I know it’s a subtle (very subtle) form of OCD but some people are addicted to meth and really, if you make a general comparision my issue is not that severe so f*ck off and quit judging.

Rebecca Minkoff gladiators. I house a family of MACs and minis but I would sell them all for these babies. Kidding, I’d do no such thing, I would charge them to my credit card like every other normal, responsible adult without a shopping habit. Obviously.

Nothing makes me happier (when it comes to shopping) than Wildfox. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, they’re like cupcakes, rainbows, unicorns and the ability to not get fat from dessert, all rolled into one. THAT good. THAT whimsical and THAT heavenly. This photo below is from Kimberely Gordon’s own personal inspiration website. I would love to take a mini trip inside her head one day, but I don’t drop acid.
